September’s colorway is Rock City, a place many of you probably only know from the giant highway billboards urging you to “See Rock City,” which, to be clear – you definitely should.
Rock City is located on the Georgia side of Lookout Mountain, in this funny bit of Georgia that can only be accessed by driving out of Georgia and into Tennessee. You can spend an afternoon strolling along a path lined with unbelievable natural rock formations, beautiful foliage, and a 140 foot waterfall! Some other great stops along your journey through Rock City is Lover’s Leap where you can see 7 states, Fat Man’s Squeeze, the enormous Balanced Rocks, and, if you so wish, a creepy gnome village (don’t worry, there’s an early exit for the rock-path-purists).
When I suggested going here early in our relationship, Dan sort of grudgingly agreed. He thought it sounded stupid; I thought it sounded like the “ultimate roadside attraction” Neil Gaiman later billed it as.
Of course, this was one of the first (but not the last!) times Dan was wrong and I was right. We’ve gone many times since, on many an occasion, and it’s since become a part of our annual ritual to celebrate Amy’s day, making it even more sentimental. Here we are in eerily similar photos 12 years later:
Rock City is available in the following bases: TML, Pashmina, Tosh DK, Tosh Vintage, Tosh Sock and Twist Light.
