If you ever had a Kaboodle, you know what fun it is to carry all your favorite things around. Well, your Kaboodle just got a make over – you can now carry the kitties around with you in this handy blog series called Kitty Kaboodle. We’ll talk about different things, okay mostly yarn, but we want you all to get to know us a little better and hope you will share with us in the comments!
What are we working on?
Erin is Knitting-a-long for the February KAL! Her Carson Throw uses Tosh Chunky in Kitten, Paper, Espadrilles, Chamomile, Grasshopper, & Glass Bottom Boat.
This is the pattern picture because Emily has not gotten very far on this beginner shawl. She is using Squoosh Merino Cashmere: Sock in the ESK exclusive colorway Tybee Island.
Janine was so inspired by Kayum’s version of the 3 Color Cashmere Shawl that she decided to knit one herself! She is using Tosh Merino Light in Firewood, Spicewood, and Dutchess for a rich, luxurious twist on this fantastic design.
Jenny is knitting Starfighter by our very own Tracey Cox! She is using the ever-so-squishy Amy March DK from Yarn Love in the dreamy colorway Dryad.
Jessica is knitting-a-long as well on her beautifully bright Carson Throw in Tosh Chunky. She chose a rainbow of colors: Cactus Flower, Daffodil, Jade, Flashdance, Baltic, and Holi Festival!
Tracey is using Dream in Color’s Smooshy with Cashmere in Mermaid Shoes to knit up a classic pair of socks. The simplicity in this pattern really shoes off this amazing hand-dyed skein!
Amy is also participating in February’s KAL! She is using Tosh DK in Flashdance for her Starfighter.
Feel free to share what you are working on in the comments below! We love seeing what is on your needles.
Beautiful! I am loving working on tgeCatson Throw as well.
Did you pick a kit or choose your own color combination?
I am working on a lovely Rooibos hat by Clare Devine. I am using my Ravelry Red from Malabrigo that I purchased from ESK.
Where is the Tybee Island colorway?? I can’t find it on the website!
it’s a madtosh exclusive from last year but it appears there isnt any left. it was a pretty limey green/yellowy variegated
lots of fun inspiration in the kitty kaboodle! i’m also working on carson 🙂 just cast on last night. i love the somplicity of a st st pi shawl and the quickness of knitting it up …at first.. lol. i cant figure out my second color though. i purchased my first 3 colors – moonglow, mica, and aura. But the mica isnt the right color at all! i need something in the light bluegray family in between the aura and moonglow intensities and just cant figure out which! boo 😛
If you send us an e-mail, we have some extremely talented kitties who could help you pick colors! Seeing them in real life might be the help you are looking for 🙂
thank you! i will keep that in mind in the future but my sis and i will be visiting esk soon 😀 !!!
I am working on all of the things. Well, I am working on both KAL’s for February, but I think the Carson Throw is my preferred project. I am working it up in the Zissou colour scheme that I was lucky enough to get in on the kits for in February. My Starfighter hat is in NBK MCN DK Neptune, although to be honest, I am not entirely enjoying the base. It could be that I keep having to tink back because I lose a YO, but its fuzzing up a bit. I am also working on a test knit sweater using Tosh DK in Arctic that I bought from ESK. I think it will be close for the amount of yarn I have, but I am hopeful that it will work out perfectly.
So.. all those and then a bunch more in non ESK yarn! 🙂
