Amicalola Falls is located in Dawsonville, GA and, at 729 feet, is the tallest cascading waterfall in the Southeast. Amongst the numerous hiking trails is the southern end of the 2,175 Appalachian Trail, Amicalola serves as a beautiful wedding venue with popular activities include picnicking, trout fishing, geocaching, and photography. Erin and Dan take the spotlight for this month’s colorway:
Way back in 2003, when we were first dating (and oh so very much younger), one of our favorite Sunday activities was to just drive around more rural Georgia in Dan’s old pick-up truck. Windows down, radio up, sun and young love and, as recent transplants from the Northeast, we were also in love with everything Georgia.
Amicalola Falls was one of our early – and later, frequent – stops. We happened upon it and decided to check it out – these falls are truly majestic and visitors can climb all the way up to the top via a terrifying staircase. Twelve years and a new truck later, we still love going back to this spot for both the beautiful falls and the memories!
