Q2 Team Spirit Pep Rally

You know it was a great quarter when the hardest day in 3 months consists of worrying if a blog post will be too long – there are so many awesome pictures to post! Though Q2 has come to a close and all cheerleading is over, we wanted to have a post-Q2 pep rally to recognize all the Team Spirit talent! You all really showed us your skill with the KAL and your personalities poured out in the Scavenger Hunt photos. It was neat to see a tiny glimpse into your lives, so thank you for sharing your city, your family, your fluffy pets, your favorite dives, your yarn, and your hearts!

Join us as we shout a big cheer for the T-shirt Scavenger Hunt submissions from Flickr!

Q3: A Yarn Odyssey

New quarter means a new knit-a-long and a new challenge, and here they are!

Q3 Crossword Challenge
YUP, we said CROSSWORD CHALLENGE. Erin loves a good word game, so this quarter’s challenge is an Eat.Sleep.Knit crossword! Each week, we’ll give you a chance to find two of the 24 crossword answers on our website, or, use the clues to puzzle them out yourself.

Prizes:
Each person submitting a completed crossword puzzle by September 30th, 2014 will receive a single-use coupon good for 15% off your purchase.
The team that gets the most completed crossword puzzles submitted will receive an extra two “virtual finishers” towards its final year total to determine the winning team!

How It Works:
1. Download your crossword grid as a PDF or a Word document.
2. Complete your crossword! This can be done the old-fashioned way, or you can play along each week for the hunt to find two more clues.
3. Add your team name, first & last name, and your e-mail address to the completed crossword puzzle so we can identify you.
4. Send us your crossword! Completed crosswords can be submitted two ways – either electronically via e-mail to trivia at eat sleep knit dot com or by postal mail to:

Eat Sleep Knit
6400 Highlands Parkway, Ste I
Smyrna, GA 30082

Weekly Crossword Clues
Each week on Monday, we’ll underline two words somewhere on our website that match up to two of the crossword puzzle answers. We’ll post a hint on Rav/Facebook/Twitter to help you find these two words, which will always be hidden within product descriptions somewhere on our page. We won’t tell you which clues they answer, but by the end of the month you should have all 24 answers available to easily match up with the grid and provided crossword clues so you can complete your crossword.

Here’s an example (and the first answer!):

Q3 Knit-A-Long – Oldie But Goodie
We’ve all got at least one, probably dozens. That pattern that you favorited or added to your queue years ago, the one that always seems to be the project you’ll get to “right after I finish up these other two things,” falling ever farther down your list but never quite out of your mind. This knit-a-long is for you, beloved old pattern.

For Q3, we challenge you to pick a pattern that you added to your queue or your favorites during your first year as an active Raveler. Something you always come back to but still haven’t gotten around to yet. If you’re not sure, when you visit your Ravelry queue or your favorites, it will show you the date you added an item – for me, my first year is 2007/2008, but use the first year you started favoriting/queueing/whatevering things on Ravelry! If your favorite older pattern predates your Ravelry usage, that’s okay too – the idea is to pick something you’ve wanted to or planned to know for a while but just haven’t gotten around to.

Knit-a-long requirements:
*As always, all yarn must be from Eat Sleep Knit to be eligible for prizes.
*Project must be started and completed within the third quarter (July 1-Sept 30).
*Projects should use a minimum of 200 yards.
*Projects should be something you’ve favorited/queued/whatevered during your first year actively doing so on Ravelry.
*Pattern modifications are totally fine, just be sure your project still meets the other requirements!

Prizes:
All completed eligible projects will receive 1000 yards towards their individual Yarnathon totals, not to mention you will finally have this awesome project you’ve dreamed of!

Submissions:
Completed projects should be submitted to the Google form by October 1st to receive your yardage!

Knit-a-long discount:
Need yarn? Don’t forget – place your knit-a-long order between now and July 13th and specify in the comments field which yarn is for your project, and we’ll take 10% off for that yarn. Adjustments will have to be made manually so this discount won’t show up at checkout, but we will e-mail you to confirm.

Q3 Trivia
Don’t forget trivia starts back up today! Look for the first question of the quarter this afternoon on Twitter!
